                               RESOLUTION NO. 19434
                   
                   
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY FINANCE 
                   OFFICER TO LOAN THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT 
                   CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND 2071, BESSIE SMITH 
                   PROJECT, AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED 
                   FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS 
                   ($250,000.00) FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE 
                   PURPOSE OF PAYING FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF 
                   THE COMPLETION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT 
                   TO BE REPAID FROM FUNDS TO BE APPROPRIATED 
                   IN THE CAPITAL BUDGET OF FISCAL YEAR 
                   1992-1993.
                   
                   
                                                     
                   
                   
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the City Finance Officer be and is 
       hereby authorized to loan an amount not to exceed $250,000.00 to 
       the General Government Capital Projects Fund 2071, Bessie Smith 
       Project, from the General Fund, for the purpose of paying for the 
       completion of the City's share of the construction project on the 
       Bessie Smith Preservation Hall with the funds to be repaid from 
       funds to be appropriated in the capital budget of fiscal year 
       1992-1993.
